Are you still using your year-old print
brochures? If you still are, then you might want to ask yourself if it needs a
makeover. Regular and fresh new brochure printing outputs is important for them
to be competitive.
If you start lagging behind, your marketing tool
will slowly lose its worth because it will not be effective enough at doing
this job. Therefore, to make it easier for you to see if your custom brochures
need a makeover, I have created this list of questions. Answering the questions
below and examining their ramifications should help you judge the status of
your color brochure better.
Hopefully this should give you the information
you need to act on the makeover.
• Is it getting results? – One of the first
indicators of the need for a makeover is its power to produce results. Is your
marketing tool still getting customers or responders for your business or
project? Do they come with your brochure in hand? On the other hand, do most of
them now come after they have seen your online advertisements? Try to determine
this by asking your responders where they saw or read the information about
your business or project. If they are not coming from brochures at all, then it
is time to revamp your color brochures. You do not want to be wasting money on
something that is not producing results.
• Is it making an impact? – Another important
thing to ask is impact. Are people impressed? Do they remember your marketing
materials after reading it for some time? Do they still get excited once they
read them?
Impact is important since this is what drives
most people to act on them. So try to determine this by just asking some people
what they think about your material now. See if they are attracted to it
immediately or if they just consider it as a run of the mill. If yours do not
grade well with their expectations, then it is time for a brochure redesign
definitely.
• Is it competitive with others? – You should of
course also ask yourself if they are still competitive enough with others.
Competitiveness of course is important since you want people to be reading
first and acting on them first as well. You can try to determine this easily by
just getting other rival brochures and just comparing them with yours. What
looks better? Who has the better offer? If they are the same, or you are
lacking then of course it is just logical to invest in a fresh new design and a
new batch of printing project.
• Is it original enough? – Finally ask yourself,
are they original enough? When you see other brochures, is the concept and the
message almost the same? Is there anything that stands out? If all you see is
the same old theme and message with a boring twist, then you should really
think about doing an original makeover for your brochure designs. Originality
is a key to every success in business promotions so you really need to innovate
in terms of designs and message approaches to really be good at it.
So does your color brochure need a makeover?
Hopefully this article has helped you determined that. Good Luck!
